ABOUT US
In 2015, I moved that dream across borders when I opened Taqueria Milear in Crown Heights, New York. Together with Artemio, we brought with us not just recipes, but heritage — our grandma’s kitchen, our family traditions, and our love for authentic Mexican food. Milear was born out of that love: handmade tortillas, vibrant tacos, carnitas, tamales, salsas… meals that taste like home. Over the years, Milear became more than a restaurant — it became a gathering place. Friends, neighbors, newcomers to this city — all came looking for warmth, flavor, and authenticity. We kept our roots close: we source fresh ingredients, respect old ways, and cook everything from scratch. The community, the long nights, the shared meals — they’ve given us strength, pride, and purpose.
Now, in 2025, I’ve taken another step in this journey — Tamaleria La Madrina. This place is the fulfillment of a vision I’ve carried since Hidalgo. It’s for the tamales made with the same careful hands that watched me grow; for the antojitos that tell stories of Sunday mornings and family tables; for every person who’ll taste something and feel their own memories stir. Tamaleria La Madrina isn’t just a shop — it’s the dream come true. It’s the bridge between my home in Mexico, the kitchen in Brooklyn, and every table we’re honored to feed.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Every dish you try supports more than a business — you’re keeping tradition alive, feeding love, and building community one tamal, one taco, one memory at a time.

The Chef Marisol
Originally from Hidalgo, Mexico. Growing up, family and food were inseparable. In the small village where I was raised, I learned to cook at my grandma’s side — making quesadillas, gorditas, tamales, and everything delicious in between. The smell of masa, the sizzle of fresh tortillas, and the rich traditions of home shaped more than my taste — they shaped my dreams.
